Reform groups today sent a letter to Congress strongly urging Senators and Representatives to vote no on the Omnibus Appropriations bill. If enacted, the bill contains the most corrupting campaign finance provisions ever passed by Congress.

Dear Representative,

Our organizations strongly urge you to vote NO on the Omnibus Appropriations bill.

If you vote for this bill and it is enacted, you will share responsibility for enacting the most corrupting campaign finance provisions ever passed by Congress.

The provisions authorize massive contributions that can only be made by millionaires and billionaires and that have been prohibited for more than four decades to prevent corruption and the appearance of corruption.

If you vote for the bill, you will own these provisions and the national corruption scandals that are bound to follow their enactment.

We realize that the campaign provisions have been buried in a much larger bill. This does not justify voting for legislation that will eviscerate critically important campaign finance laws enacted to prevent corruption and protect the interests of more than three hundred million Americans.

We strongly urge you to vote against the Omnibus Appropriations bill.

Sincerely,
